Altenew July Blog Hop

Good morning, and thank you so much for joining us!  Our new stamps will be available to purchase on Monday, July 14th 9:00am EST, and we are so excited to celebrate with today’s blog hop!  We have some AMAZING designers joining us (more on that later), and some fabulous prizes to give away.  Yesterday we revealed ALL 13 stamp sets in our Summer release, and we hope you like them…if you missed that post, you can check it out here.
Tasnim and I made some cards to feature the new stamps, so let’s get to those first 🙂
This card features stamps from Birthday Bash.  The streamer stamp was curved on the acrylic block before stamping, then colored in with bright Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped and colored in as well, but with the added feature of a popped-up die cut circle.  All colored areas were covered in glittery Wink of Stella!

This card shows just one way that you could use the new Shadow Play set.  The bicycle and birds were stamped onto white cardstock, and their corresponding shadows onto grey.  Once they were colored in and the sentiment was stamped (in black ink and white embossing), the whole panel was wrapped with washi tape and popped up off of a card base. Fun!

Modern Beadwork features beaded motifs that can be combined in hundreds of ways to create unique patterns and designs.  In this card, they were stamped in four different colors onto a white cardstock panel.  The sentiment was also stamped onto white, and adhered to the panel with foam tape.  A yellow strip helps anchor the sentiment to the rest of the design.  The panel was then mounted onto a bright pink card base.
Sketchy Cities Abroad takes you on a trip to Australia and China.  This card uses the Shanghai skyline, stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment was then stamped, and the skyline was carefully cut out and popped up off of a grey card base with foam tape. The last little finishing touch is a sweet moon up in the corner!

These cards both use our new Quilled Elegance stamp set.  The first card is simple and elegant- the quilled “hello” was stamped and embossed in gold, and lightly colored in with a grey marker.  It was then mounted onto a black card base, accented with gold paper strips.  The second card shows what you can do with a little more patience! The image was colored with fun, bright colors, then enamel dots were scattered onto the cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of white cardstock, and the whole thing was then mounted to a grey card base.
This card utilizes the artistic and trendy sequel to Super Script, Super Script 2.  It features a lovely floral printed cardstock, a die cut opening, and gold butterflies.  The sentiment was simply stamped onto a strip of white cardstock and mounted behind the floral panel at an angle.

Our Geometric Menagerie set will have you smiling at the animals and their silly sentiments.  The bear was stamped onto vellum, and some of the triangles were colored in. The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock and mounted to the vellum with foam tape, then the vellum piece was sewn into place on the card base. To bring in some more color, two strips of cardstock (colored with marker for a perfect match) were adhered to the card base.
Sentiments & Quotes has a variety of sentiments that can be used individually for many different occasions, or mixed and matched like it was done in this card. The sentiments that are in black were either stamped on yellow card stock, cut to shape, and adhered, or stamped directly on the card base. The circular sentiment was stamped in orange ink and cut with a circle punch. The black lines in the center are part of a washi tape. The single star was stamped in gold ink on to the card base.
The floral images in the Persian Motifs set are quite versatile to work with. On this card, they were first embossed with white embossing powder, and then colored with water based markers. Being resistant to water, the white embossed areas are clear and give beautiful details to this card.
Eid is a festivity celebrated by Muslims twice a year, the first being at the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, and celebrates the completion of fasting. We are in the middle of Ramadan, and the Eid Greetings set will be available just in time to make some Eid cards. In the card above, “Eid Mubarak” was first stamped repeatedly in silver ink, and then the same sentiment in Arabic was embossed in glittery gold.
Sketchy Flowers Rose has a large Rose image along with some branches, leaves and Rose buds. On this card, the Rose was stamped first, it was then masked before stamping the branch with the leaves. The image was then colored with Prisma color pencils.
In Scribbled Flowers you will find many floral images that look as if they were scribbled with a marker. With the variety of flowers, and small elements, you will be able to come up with endless designs. In this card, the images were stamped in pink and purple pigment inks. To add interest, the sentiment was raised on a strip of card stock.
We conclude our card features with a simple Ramadan card using the set Ramadan Greetings. Here the mosque outline was first stamped and then masked before applying some ink using a sponge dauber. It is always a nice surprise when you remove the mask and reveal the crisp white underneath!
Our guest designers have made some awesome projects for today too!  Here’s the line-up:

July Full Reveal

Well, after six days of little peeks into the new stamps, the time has come to reveal the sets in their entirety!

Are you ready?! I know you are 😉

There you go, all thirteen sets that will be available for purchase on Monday July 14th.

I hope you will join us back here tomorrow for our premier blog hop. Some of the most talented designers from the paper crafting community will be showcasing these stamps in their projects, and there will be lots of prizes!

Sneak Peek Day 6

Hello and welcome to the last day of sneak Peeks! This will conclude the thirteen sets that we will be releasing next Monday.

So without further ado, here are our last two sets:

One can never have too many sentiment stamps sets! In this particular set I have combined sentiments for all kinds of occasions in a variety of modern fonts. Whether you want to congratulate someone on their wedding, graduation, newborn, or just send them a happy hello, you will find something in this set.

Once again we delve into some culture. The floral designs in this set were inspired by Persian ceramic designs. We love looking at old designs and bringing them afresh with a modern twist, and this is just one example of such an effort. Whether they are simply stamped, colored, or used with some other techniques, I think you will love these floral images!

Come back tomorrow, as we will do a full reveal of all the thirteen sets before our big blog hop on Saturday!

Sneak Peek Day 5

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s sneak peeks!  The party continues…

…and what a party indeed!  Of course Altenew needed a basic birthday set.  This one is full of fun sentiments and great party images – from streamers to confetti to noisemakers.  We think you will love using this set to make some awesome birthday cards!

We like to stay on top of the trends, and geometric/faceted icons are definitely in!  This set really makes me chuckle, due to the cheesy puns which pair with the animal images 🙂  The outlines look great stamped on their own, and are particularly striking when colored in.  We think you’ll love it!

Tasnim will be back tomorrow for our last day of sneak peeks. See you then!

Sneak Peek Day 4

Hello!

Are you ready for some more sneak peeks? Here we go!

A couple of years ago I was making a number of Eid cards, and had to write the greetings on them as I didn’t have any Eid stamps. At that time I thought that one day I will design some Eid stamps. Well, here we are! This set has a variety of Eid greetings along with some floral images. I am very excited about this set, and I hope some of you are 🙂

We have sketchy cities, how about some sketchy flowers? In this set I have sketched out a Rose along with some leaves and Rose buds. This large Rose will make a great focal image on your paper crafting projects, and will also work great for an oversize card.

Thank you very much for stopping by. We will be back tomorrow for yet a couple more sneak peeks!

Sneak Peek Day 3

Good morning!  I’m excited to show you some more peeks of the stamps in our upcoming release!

Quilling is a beautiful paper art, and it has been around for hundreds of years.  Recently, modern quilling has gained popularity and is quickly becoming a trend in paper crafting.  Those of you who follow my blog may recognize the image above- I modeled it after a card I made a few years ago.  Quilling takes time, skill, and patience, and these stamps will allow you to get a similar look without having to bust out the paper strips 🙂  Coordinating sentiments complete the set!

This set is one of my favorites from this release, since I have been dreaming of it for years, hehe.  With summer in full swing here in the Northern Hemisphere, we wanted to create a set with elements you would find outdoors.  To make it even more fun, each image has a coordinating shadow…just think of all of the cute scenes that can be created with this stamp set!

Well, that’s it for today!  Please post your thoughts in the comments, and come back tomorrow- Tasnim will be introducing two more new stamp sets!

Sneak Peek Day 2

Hello and welcome back!

Yesterday Jen showed you sneak peeks of three upcoming sets, and today I will show you a little peek at two more sets 🙂

Ramdan is the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar calender, and it is a month where Muslims observe fasting throughout the month from dawn to sunset. This stamp set is inspired by a need for stamps appropriate for this special month. This set contains many greetings and reminders which would be great for use on scrapbooks, cards and gifts.

You all loved Painted Flowers, which was one of our most popular stamps from the first release. Therefore, It only seemed fit that we design another multi-step floral set. This set has some flowers that are single step and others that are double-step. With several building elements, and a collection of sentiments, we hope that you will enjoy using this set!

See you tomorrow with some more sneak peeks!

Sneak Peek Day 1

We are so excited to start sharing some sneak peeks of the stamps we will be releasing on July 14th!  We’ve had many requests from our customers to create sequels to their favorite sets, so you may see a few familiar themes!  Let’s get the party started! 🙂

Although Tasnim and I both live in the United States, we have friends all over the world!  We are continuing our Sketchy Cities collection with skylines from Sydney, Australia, and Shanghai, China.  These stylish and edgy skylines will be a great addition to your cards or scrapbooks, and just like Sketchy Cities America, you don’t have to live in these cities to enjoy using the stamps!

Another customer favorite is our Super Script sentiment set.   We have added new phrases to expand your collection, and they can be mixed and matched for even more sentiment possibilities! This brush script-inspired set will add artistic flair to your projects, and they will be right on trend!

We love finding inspiration from other cultures, and this stamp set celebrates the beauty of Native American beadwork!  The motifs are designed to work together so you can create a myriad of different beadwork patterns, both traditional and modern.  We can’t wait to see how you use it!

Let us know what you think!  Tasnim will be back tomorrow to introduce two more sets.  One more thing- please mark your calendars so that you don’t miss the full stamp reveal on the 11th, and our blog hop on the 12th. We have some fabulous guest designers joining us, and you won’t want to miss it! 🙂
