Winners of February Challenge

It is time to announce the winners from our February Challenge. There were so many beautiful and creative entries, it was hard for us to narrow them down to just three winners, so we decided to have four winners this time! and here they are:

Oh the elegance and beauty! We fell in love with this card instantly! There are so many techniques and little details in this card, our favorite is how Maria has left the die cut word intact, definitely a clever decision!

Daria G.

Another beautiful and elegant card! We love how Daria used both the lace and the hearts stamps on this card.

Isn’t this card simply gorgeous?! Look at the interesting detail on the top left corner, we love how Heather interpreted our inspiration photo!

Laura Jane

Not only does this card have a beautiful composition, it also showcases stamps from four different sets! We are very impressed with the gold geometric design. Who knew one little stamp could be used to make a beautiful frame! Well done, Laura Jane!

February Challenge: From the Craft Room

Hello!

We skipped a challenge last month, but we have a new inspiration photo for February, and a sneak peed at some upcoming products!

This month’s theme: Gold & Glitter

I went back to my old cards for inspiration. The one in this picture was originally posted here.

My take:

I love frames! and if you do too, you may find the above frame at our store by the end of this month! What do you think of the flowers? They are from a set that will be released in two weeks. And, there will be inks too! More on that later 🙂

December Challenge Winners

Some of you have emailed me asking when the December winners will be announced. I apologize for not posting these sooner. I was caught up with the CHA 2015 Mega Show and didn’t get a chance to select the winners until now.

November Challenge Winners & December Challenge

Would you believe it? We almost forgot to announce November challenge’s winners!

This month’s theme: From the Craft Room: Warm Sunshine

For some of us, it is Winter and most days are cloudy and cold. Hence, it is nice to dream of warm sunny days 🙂

Example interpretation:

The reindeer silhouette, the ornament, and the word ‘joy’ are from our Festive silhouette stamp set. The rest of the items were simply pulled out of a scraps box to match theme of the inspiration.

November Challenge: From the Craft Room

Time to get creative for our November challenge!

This month’s theme: From the Craft Room: Scraps to Arts

This time I pulled out some scraps from my scrap box to create the inspiration board. The only thing that wasn’t a scrap was the metal frame.

Here is a card based on the photo:

I stamped the flower and swirls from our Peony Scrolls set in Archival black ink on water color paper. Next I used Gansai Tambi water colors to paint the floral images. I mixed colors and painted in a slightly loose manner. Once everything was dry, I adhered some star glitter, and adhered the panel to a 3.75″ x 5″ card base. The sentiment is from our Label Love set, and it was stamped on a separate piece of card stock, trimmed, and adhered.

The leaves were painted with a shimmery bronze water color!

We are halfway into October, and quite late on posting our October challenge. However, it is better late than never!

This month’s theme: From the Craft Room: Chocolate Delight

Here is a simple card that I made based on this photo:

I gold embossed the lace image from our Lace Up set on to a chocolate colored card stock. I simply love this combination! I wanted to leave it as is, but decided to add the satin bow for a focal point. The sentiment is from the Magnolias For Her set, and is embossed in white on a strip of kraft card stock.

September Challenge Winners

Hello!

We have seen some amazing talent and beautifully designed projects entered to our September challenge.

Now it is time to announce some winners! It was a very tough choice, but we have selected these three designers who will each receive a $20 credit to our store:

We love the black and white contrast, and we think that Jayne’s design is simply stunning!

Marika

With her beautiful water coloring, Marika brought the Magnolias to life. We simply couldn’t resist the beauty and elegance of this card!

Lisa

Lisa’s card is simply gorgeous! There is something about the flow of color on her sentiment strip that draws the eyes and keep them captivated.

We decided to throw in a little surprise and draw a random fourth winner!

Well, isn’t this card the epitome of clean, simple and beautiful?! We know it was no simple task to create the sentiment, but the result is stunning, and well worth the effort. We also love the clever way Kelly stamped the leaves from the flower petals.

September Challenge: From the Craft Room

Hello!

Today we are very excited to be introducing our first monthly challenge!

Each month we will be bringing you an inspiration photo based on a particular theme.

This month’s theme is: From the Craft Room: Lime Lemonade

To get you started, I made a card based on this photo:

I used the Giraffe image from our Geometric Menagerie set, and embossed it in white on water color paper. Next I used Peerless water colors to add some yellow and green to the Giraffes. I trimmed them, and adhered them over a die cut circle. The leaves were doodled using a fine tip Gray marker, trimmed and adhered behind the circle. Since I made this card for a friend of mine who just had twin boys, I had to make a custom greeting using a Dymo label maker (I just realized that in my hurry I forgot the “o” in welcome! Good thing I can simply make another label 🙂 ).
