March Challenge: From Places Abroad – Abu Dhabi

A new challenge is here, and we have something different for you this month! Did you notice the title? Yes, we are leaving the craft room to go abroad for inspiration! 🙂

Last month, I had the privilege of visiting Masjid Sheikh Zayed in Abu Dhabi. The above three pictures shows some of the interior designs from this place.

You may use any one of the three pictures or a combination of them for your inspiration.

I made three cards based on each photo:

Inspired by the first picture. I loved how the delicate gold design seemed to transverse over the black and kraft roof. I embossed the lace image from Lace Up over a black card base and a round kraft card stock. The outline ‘hello’ stamp from the Halftone Hello set was also embossed in gold, and die cut with a coordinating die. Yes, coordinating die! which will be release on March 16th!

This was inspired by the colors and texture in the second picture. I used a flower stamp from Doodle Blooms, and stamped it repeatedly on a white card base with Versamark ink. After embossing with white embossing powder, I applied some blue ink with a sponge dauber. The die cut leaves (also to be released) will coordinate with stamps from the same set. Sentiments are from Halftone Hello and Label Love.

A very simple card inspired by the third photo. Swirls are from Peony Scrolls, leaves are from Lacy Scrolls, flowers are from Whimsical Flowers and the sentiment is from Hennah Elements, and yes, more sneak peeks of coordinating dies 🙂
